I am not
Muhammad Ali

The ring is ready, boxer Muhammad Ali faces one of the decisive fights in his history, many people think it´s  his end; Ali with 10 years of career will fight against George Foreman, the heavyweight champion of the moment; experts take him for dead, after this fight, Ali will retire without a doubt, some are heard saying (The Fight, Norman Mailer)

This project borns from  the story “Las manos que crecen” (The growing hands), by Julio Cortázar, where he narrates the absurd and anormal swelling of Plack’s hands after having caused a beating to his friend Cary; the analogy with one of the most important boxers in history:Muhammad Ali, the fight against George Foreman in Kinshasa, Zaire, in 1974; the relationship with hitting, falling, death, rage, and the impossibility of hitting anyone who physically or emotionally harms us.

The self-referential, the violence, the pain of the body and of the soul, the blows that we give and receive, the expectation of society placed on the shoulders of a champion, the figure of the idol, impotence, falling and rising after a hard knock out. The box, Muhammad Ali, Cortázar, the hands, and our life immersed in all this; trying, once again, to explain us the nature of the human being and his vulnerability as such.
